Possibly the most popular of all the CSCS tests, the operatives test covers a very wide and diverse range of operations.
This test covers the more broad and general basic health and safety procedures, practices and precautions that must be observed while on site.
Everyone from labourers to brick layers and even carpenters or joiners can take this test.
The test will consist of 50 questions covering a wide variety of topics from case studies on site practice to high risk activities. In addition to this, as of April 2012, a new section has been added to include environmental awareness.
Not all questions carry the same weight and as such, the pass rate for this exam is in the region of 97%.
Passing this test will entitle you to a number of card options from Red, Green, Blue and even a White or Yellow card. This will all be dependent on what specific role you’ll be operating on while on site and what (if any) construction related qualifications you might hold.
